About Khaznad
Khasnad is the Somali word for vault.
We chose the name because a vault does two jobs. It hides what you own from anyone who has no right to it. And it holds those same things for the people who do, on the day they need them most.
Khaznad is built the same way. What you write is encrypted in your browser before it reaches us, so it stays hidden even from us. While you live, only you can open it. After, only the people you named.
Why it exists
The search we watched our own family make.
In many Somali homes, one person carries everything. The head of the household knows where the money is and tells no one. Generations of nomadic life spread our families across borders, and our assets followed: land in one country, savings in another, gold with a relative in a third.
We live below our means because we have to. Many children, many bills, and something set aside for the rainy day. Then the rainy day arrives as a death, and nothing was written down. It happened with our own parents. We watched relatives search for accounts they could not name, in countries they could not call.
That money took a lifetime of discipline to save. It was lost because nobody knew where to look. Khaznad exists so your family never has to make that search.
Who built it
Khaznad is built by two people from the community. One of us is an engineer who spent years at one of the world's largest travel platforms, helping build systems that serve millions of guests around the world every night, then at fast growing startups, and today mentors other engineers. The other leads a team of IT professionals. Together we have built payment and education apps that our local community uses every day. Our names are not on this page. The promise does not depend on them: what you write here, we cannot read.
